What a sweet component of life, community. Sure, the word can feel over-saturated being used loosely and often, yet it is so imperative to who we are and what makes us feel whole. Be it the community that is immediately surrounding us in a physical proximity or the community that has been curated in our work space, as humans most often we thrive based on the humans that we invite in to our story.
Hi, I'm Karen Mitchell! I'm excited about creating a platform to share about the things that I think I know, the things I definitely don't know and a space to share some of the pretty little things that make me smile in the midst of life, hoping they'll bring a snip of joy to another. Just a little bit about me; love: I'm married to my wonderfully handsome man, Justin Mitchell. Beliefs: my relationship with Christ is vital for the sustenance of my life. Home: my heart is divided into three places that I refer lovingly to home, Phoenix, New York and my of course where I lay my head at night, Colorado. Err'thang: I've spent most of my life wrestling between the daydream of being a mama to four or five children and then dressing like Claire Underwood and really being "someone" in the business world. Wrestling to find balance with it all has consumed so much of my life but it's shaped me in to who I am and I hope that just a bit of the vulnerabilities will help another to skip some of the pain or processing.
Fortitude and Finn has been stirring in my soul for sometime. The heartbeat of this blog is to build a community that is encouraged to not settle into one thing or the other but to find strength in trying new things, messing them up, trying again. Exploring. Making things. Building things and seeing where that takes your mind and soul. To stimulate the parts of us that want to live amongst the tallest structures in the world while pulling fruit off of the plant in our yards and enjoying the sweet taste of what you've sewn. A community that partakes and contributes to one another. In a world where birds of a feather truly flock together, sometimes we need access to those that we relate with but are so different from in order to shape and re-shape who we are. To become our best selves. Let's build together ... Let's learn together. With courage in the midst of adversity let's explore what we've been given to become more.
