Lifestyle | Kissing that skin damage goodbye!
Skin. Woof. It’s like the best or the worst and to achieve middle++ ground feels like a miracle. I spent most of my younger years not worrying about how to care for it. Not because I didn’t have blemishes but I literally had no clue what to use. My sister used drugstore face wash so sometimes I stole that if she was nowhere near the bathroom but mostly I hated how tight my face felt after using the ever famous purple and turquoise blue bottle of cream. And we often used Oxy10 but there was nothing else. Before or after. In my 20’s it was a point of pride not to use sunscreen, not to wash my face outside of a rinse in the shower or a dip in the pool. Occasionally I was treated to a facial and I’d stand poking my face in the mirror afterward amazed at the glow that was left on my skin.
Here is the list of products that I use:
biopeptide creme (I’m actually paused on this but now I want to order it again)
Advanced Hydration Mask, however, replacing this with:
Sorella The Balm (all-time favorite product)
A Special Mask Treat
My 3'0’s came in hot and I felt like I really started paying for my lack of care prior. I started investing in facials and while it really was such a boost, I needed to figure out how to make that feeling last outside of the spa or the treatment room. A few potions entered my cabinet and helped me form a routine, I could see how regularity would help but zzz, I was tired.
Pregnancy really ***** me up. I mean…wow. It’s like every long day in the sun showed up during Amos’ third trimester and I had work to do. I started working much closer with Serena of Zio Skin Spa and I can testify that my skin is finally back in shape. It took some time, but not nearly as. much time as it took for me to damage it. My pregnancy with Navy was a double whammy on my skin. In the last year Serena and I (and by I, I mean she and I just send her my cc info) have formulated a routine for the morning and the night that is not only worth my time but feels like a gift to myself each day— they are rhythms I look forward to and I find joy in the investment because it’s literally saving my skin.
I’ve learned that the facials give a really good boost but that the results are in the day-to-day. Serena is consistent with her research, the products she recommends are clean and productive. We do everything virtually because we’re states apart. She asks what my goals are, I send pictures that are brutally honest and she sends a list of recommendations of which I select yes or no, and then she ships them with a sweet little love note including directions.
If you’re in La Jolla, I cannot recommend a visit strongly enough.
Your face has never felt such an angelic touch.
I love feeling pretty when I can. I love feeling like I’m not aging (although— aren’t we all) and her lineup of products have made such a shift in my world. I love knowing Serena and don’t want to keep her to myself. Reach out for a consult.
** Regular use of a Gua Sha stone has also made an immense difference in my life.
This is not paid or a collab, it’s just pure love for good skin and for her passion.
