Blog Launch Dinner

Blog Launch Dinner

Awe, this sweet community! I feel so loved. I have been asked far and wide about how the dinner went and have had so many questions asked with sincere interest around what it was all about. I want to take a few minutes to explain my heart behind this blog and this dinner before I show you all of the photos.

But first, all of the shout outs...Tables + Chairs contributed by CO Party Rentals | Floral Design contributed by Amber Mustain | Photography contributed by Grace Gatto | Meal: Food Designers | Dessert contributed by Tiny Kitchen Co | Menus + Name Cards by Morgan Archuleta | Tag a long Salts by See Salt

Swag Bag Contents included a few favorite treats that felt like they corollated directly with our home. We love a sweet pastry, yummy woodsy smells - this room mist was made with essential oils and purified water. The men's was V Woodsy and the women's was V Fresh. It also held a 25% off coupon to our local Anthro because, yes! My favorite candle is Worn Leather from Cafe Earth and if I could have a bathtub with wicks, I would burn this scent ALL day. The ladies received a Salted Amber candle and the men have the yummy worn leather along with cute little matchboxes. And if you've ever come to my home you know I love salt and coffee has been pushed on you, so the SWAG called for my fave salt, fleur de sel and  a little bit of beans from the Wild Goose.

This dinner included a handful of the women that are being featured in my weekly series. A few were absent and we missed you, however, the crew that was able to attend were so awesome. My hope to bring our community together in unexpected ways and to help the paths of several cross that may not usually. Kind of like Hitch.... sans the romance. This dinner felt so good. It made all of my hosting feels delighted and immediately want to start planning the next one.

My hope for Fortitude + Finn is that it communicates living life with others well. Sharing stories. Breaking bread. Making meals. Cleaning dishes. Going inside to let the party roll on when it's FREEZING outside.... I hope that this is the first of many posts like this. I hope that this blog brings a fresh perspective while making our world a little bit smaller each week while also encouraging each of you to open your homes and host, host, host! I couldn't have done this dinner without each of you who are reading the blog, following the IG account or encouraging me in person. So! The dinner was great. The view was beautiful! The wine was delicious, the food- mouth watering and Ner, girl, your pies. Yum! Thanks, friends.

We don’t come to the table to fight or to defend. We don’t come to prove or to conquer, to draw lines in the sand or to stir up trouble. We come to the table because our hunger brings us there. We come with a need, with fragility, with an admission of our humanity. The table is the great equalizer, the level playing field many of us have been looking everywhere for. The table is the place where the doing stops, the trying stops, the masks are removed, and we allow ourselves to be nourished, like children. We allow someone else to meet our need. In a world that prides people on not having needs, on going longer and faster, on going without, on powering through, the table is a place of safety and rest and humanity, where we are allowed to be as fragile as we feel.

....So what we've all been waiting for.... PS as long as there is an insane hair flip picture of me, it will be posted. ;) -KM
