Skincare in the Morning and in the Evening...
Hi, I'm 33 and my skin needs lots of love. I may have put a body lotion on my face 6x before I was 27. These days, my skin feels as tired as my body and it feels like an indulgent treat to get to wash, hydrate and tone my skin. For years I literally didn't do anything to my skin. God knew. He was like, "Karen, you're going to fill your plate with everything except for "self-care" and so I'm going to do you a favor and help manage your skin for the first 27 years." Appreciate that, God. But then I turned 28. Now I'm like, had I started caring for it would he have extended the offer?
Anyway! One night when I was in my late 20's I was crying like a baby about the stressful things which meant I was for sure at a breaking point because tears didn't often leave my body when I was single (more on that another day). Enters roommate and I'm sobbing and I'm all but melting in her arms and she says, "you need to pause. Take a breath." She then leaves the room, walks back in and sprays my face with toning mist- game over. I found peace in this magical mist and I almost instantly realized I needed to start investing on skincare.
Pregnancy really did a number on my skin. I shook everything up and because I finally (thankfully) have started being asked what I use again, which makes me feel like I'm on the road to recovery, I thought I'd share what I'm using these days. Everything is linked, nothing is sponsored. Each product comes from well trusted estheticians that I see as often as I can.

Morning + Night: I use this gentle, smells like cookie batter, microdermabrasion powder mixed with a bit of water. It feels so good and doesn't leave my face feeling super dry like most that I've sampled in the past.
ALL of the under eye cream because... well, late nights and such. I use it morning and night and look most forward to this, especially pre-makeup in the morning. TIP // Did you know you should use your ring finger to apply under the eye creams and makeups? Your pressure application is naturally less and it's easier for your tender skin!
I use just 2 or 3 drops of this C Glow serum and only in the morning. It is strong! And only in the morning after I've washed my face. It's packed with Vitamin E + Vitamin C and Freulic Acid which helps boost the antioxidants of VC. If you use too much it can make your face tingle but I have noticed the biggest shift in my skin due to this stuff, I'm convinced.
This Savor//Beauty Pumpkin Serum is a mainstay in my drawer. Colorado's climate is DRY and this serum makes my face feel refreshed and completely moisturized. I love it to pieces. I put this on top of the Glow C and I use more like 4-5 drops of it. Morning and night!
The last for my day to day face prep is Supergoop's CC cream. It is tinted and it has sunscreen and it's filled with so many good things for your skin. Sunscreen on my face is such a must... I'm over here trying to reverse all of those late teen years and early 20's that I spent as a sun goddess. If you buy nothing else, buy this.
This probably feels like a lot but it takes all of 5 minutes or less and it's helped my skin correct, dramatically. It's a treat I look forward to when I wake up and while it's less looked forward to at bedtime it helps me rest better. 100% worth it all. I hope that some of these items (or all of them) make their way into your routine. It's healthy and good for your skin. You won't regret it!
And my sweet treat that I use when I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed is a toner. I know I can use it all of the time but I love this magic mist when there's too much in life and I need deep breaths. I switch it up but right now I'm crushing on this specific type. xx-km
