Curating Home | Summer Patio Dinner

Curating Home | Summer Patio Dinner

Happy Fourth of July!! I love this holiday. We’re not hosting anything this year but I thought since so many of you are that I’d post five go to tricks that make hosting easy for me and make the place look sweet. Most of all, enjoy the ones you’re welcoming into your home and don’t get too caught up in the details.

1 | Pull out all of the textures! A simple linen is easy to keep in the closet and adds so much to the table. I love stacking layers of different materials to add depth and make things feel summery

2 | When I don’t have time to make a centerpiece or cannot find just the right one to buy, I pull plants from around the house and create one. I always work in sets of 1, 3 or 5 for a centerpiece.

3 | If you tend to gather cute dishes, crocks and serving pans - pull them out! Use them! The “decor” from my floating shelves become my serving dishes for all finger foods, entrees and apps. Again, adding texture and telling a story of mismatched goodness.

4 | Serve your chilled wine in these insulated bags, while outdoors or indoors. There is a removable bag that stores flat in the freezer and keeps beverages cold, just as they should be during a hot summer evening

5 | Don’t want to prepare an in-depth meal? Pull out all of the fruits and veggies, dips, cheeses and thinly cut meats you have and assort them on different plates. Drizzle with an EVOO or Avo oil, dust with salt and pepper. Easy and everyone loves it!

Bonus Tip: Don’t wait for a special occasion to have your girlfriends, couples or buddies over for a bite and a drink. Carve time out of your week for the ones you hold dear and love them well with food and wine. Enjoy where you’re at friends, even when life feels busy!
